It’s not the most comfortable to carve with a kiridashi like that; after a while, the handle starts to dig into the hand. But this blade is too beautiful not to be used, so I’m planning to make a wooden handle and sheath. Cutting or Carving clay maple 🍁 leaves to simulate veins. I’m new to this carving thing, so here’s my attempt at free handing the cuts using a few tools. I found the best results using @diamondcoretools P1 and P21 tips. The only ones I currently own.
