In a rare and unsettling case, Chinese woman Liang Xiuzhen developed a small mole on her head that eventually grew into a 13-centimeter (5-inch) cutaneous horn. Made from keratin, the same material as fingernails, the horn grew rapidly and resembled something out of medical folklore. The condition, while rare, is usually linked to underlying skin disorders or benign tumors. Doctors recommended surgery to remove the growth, but Liang’s family, fearing the risks associated with her age and health
